Roy Fischer

Roy John Arthur Fischer of Morris Township passed away suddenly at his residence in Brussels on Saturday, December 1st, 2012. Born in Grey Township on September 24th, 1934, Roy was in his 79th year. Roy was the beloved husband of 55 years to Donna (McArter) Fischer and will be sadly missed by his children Randy and Cathy Fischer of Summerside, PEI and Shelley and Klaas Jorritsma of Morris Township, his grandchildren Joshua and Jess Jorritsma, Richelle and Ryan Smith, Travis Fischer, Lacey Fischer and Jodi Fischer, and his great grandchildren Aleah and Alice. Dear brother of Goldie Stevenson of Atwood, Ivan and Jean Fischer of Georgetown, Betty Knight of Wingham, Maxine and Barry Wicks of Wasaga Beach, Shirley Fischer of Kitchener, Gerald and Martha Fischer of Cambridge, and Sharon and Robin Jenkins of St. Agatha. Dear brother in law to Gerald and Ruth McArter, Mel and Lois McArter, and Dorothea and Oscar Ducharme all of Brussels. Also loved by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three children in infancy and his parents Wilfrid and Ethel. Friends will be received by the family 2 hours prior to the funeral service being conducted from the Schimanski Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 4th at 2:00 PM officiated by Reverend Perry Chuipka of St. John's Anglican Church. Cremation to follow with interment in Brussels Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Huron County or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
