Ross Bennett

E. Ross Bennett of Brussels passed away at Clinton Public Hospital on Saturday, December 24th, 2016. Born in Grey Township on August 9th, 1922, Ross was in his 95th year. Ross was the beloved husband of 55 years to the late Marg (Bell) who predeceased him on August 11th, 2016. Ross will be sadly missed by his children Nanci and Greg Ducharme of Brussels and Peter and LuAnn Bennett of Collingwood. Loving grandfather of Evan, Danielle, Emilee, Amanda and James, and Tyler. Predeceased by his parents Roy Bennett and Viola Long, his sister Marie Coutts and her husband Bill, and his brother in law Harris Bell and his wife Lois. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and again on Friday from 1 to 2 PM from the Schimanski Family Funeral Home, Brussels, where Ross's Life will be Celebrated on Friday, December 30th at 2:00 PM. A Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Service will be conducted on Thursday at 9:00 PM from the funeral home under the auspices of Brussels Legion No. 218 RCL. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Brussels Cemetery this spring. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Brussels United Church, the Brussels Legion Building Fund, the Poppy Fund or to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
