Myrtle Leary

It is with deep sadness and sorrow, yet thankful for a life well lived, we announce the passing of a wonderful, gentle MOM, Grandma and Great Grandma. Myrtle Larene Leary died suddenly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Easter Sunday, April 5th, one week after celebrating her 91st birthday. Predeceased by her best friend, the love of her life for 68 years, her husband Ken (2010), they are together once again. She was the much loved mother of Paul of RR#1 Wroxeter, Dorla and Don Patterson of Elmira, Sharon Thomas of Yellowknife, NWT, Brian and Rebecca Leary of Listowel and Don and Paulette Leary of Vegreville, Alberta. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren Michael and Debbie Patterson of Mississauga, Derek and Jenn Patterson of Elmira, Vincent and Sandra Leary of Listowel, Steven and Mary Leary of Meaford, Melissa Leary of Edmonton, Alberta, Kevin and Tabitha Leary of Vegreville, Alberta, Quincy Thomas of Victoria, BC, and Shawn Anderson of Edmonton, Alberta. She loved and adored her great grandchildren Sydney and Jake Patterson, Owen and Carys Leary, Emmett and Nathan Leary, Kiara, Veronica, Keegan, Emma, Cynthia and Justin Leary. Lovingly remembered by her niece Sandra and Dwight Bettcher of Elliot Lake. Myrtle was the daughter of the late James and Sarah Cudney and is survived by siblings Jean and Bev Long and Ralph and Velma Cudney. Predeceased by her siblings Wilfred and Ivadelle Cudney, Blanche Clayton, Bertha and Sam Foresaw, Clifford Cudney, Elgin and Isla Cudney, Dorothea Rennie, Ken Cudney, Vera Cudney and Annie and Robert Cudney. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Myrtle's Life will be held at Gorrie Bible Fellowship, 87917 Gorrie Line, Gorrie, On Friday, April 10th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Listowel Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
