Muriel Isobel (Shiell) Neilson of Listowel, and formerly of Gorrie, passed away at Wingham & District Hospital on Friday, December 28, 2007. Born in Elma Township on August 6, 1931, Muriel was in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late David Neilson. Dear mother of Elizabeth Westcott and her husband Ron of Kilworthy and Heather Schumacher and partner Ron Kroetsch of Red Deer, Alberta. Dear sister of Murray Shiell and Joyce of Listowel, Marie Fleet and Ron of Walkerton, Glen Shiell and Marlene of Listowel and Verna Wallace of Toronto. Also loved by her grandchildren Cheryl Westcott of Toronto, Ashley Westcott of Barrie, Dallas and Mandy Kroetsch of Calgary, her brother in law the Reverend John Neilson and his wife Evelyn of Wingham and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Alfred and Harry and sister Catherine Adams. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the Gorrie Visitation Centre of the Schimanski Family Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted on Monday, December 31st at 2 PM with Reverend Ian Johnston of Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel officiating. Spring interment in Gorrie Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel.
