Mary Elizabeth (Jay) Rouw

1952 - 2023

Mary passed away suddenly on March 8th, 2023.

She was cherished and will be missed by her beloved husband of 50 years, Henry, her daughter Sarah (Peter and adored grandchild, Georgia), sons Jacob (Nicholle) and Benjamin (Vanessa).

Mary is survived by sisters Patricia Cable and Dianne (Alan) Anderson, sister-in-law Lyn Jay (Wes), brother-in-law Bill (Marica) Rouw and Jake (Marie-Rose) Rouw and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John (Patricia) Jay, her twin brother Bill and brother-in-law Floyd Cable.

Born on January 24th, 1952, to Dr. H.J.D. Jay and Alma (MacFarlane), Mary grew up outside of Forest, Ontario.

She and Henry settled in Blyth, Ontario in 1981, where they renovated an old farmhouse on the 8th line of Morris Township to raise their children. Rock N' Rouw ranch quickly became a destination for family and friends - and their children's friends. Mary was an avid reader, loved to cook, preserve, and bake. Above all else, family was her greatest love.

Cremation has taken place. A private family internment and celebration of life will take place in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
