John D. Pennington of Brussels passed away suddenly at suddenly at Wingham & District Hospital of Saturday, October 13th, 2012 at the age of 66. Born in Brussels on January 17th, 1946, John served his community as a volunteer firefighter for 35 years retiring 2 years ago and operated John D. Pennington Heating and Cooling since 1976.
John was the beloved husband of Bonnie (Workman) of 43 years and will be sadly missed by his children Mark Pennington of Brussels and Lisa Pennington and her friend Paul of Lucknow and his grandchildren Daniel, Darian, Dustin, Raelyn, Christopher, Wyatt and Wade. Dear brother of Bonnie Jacklin and partner Mike Storozuk of Bluevale and Marlene Richmond Betts and husband Stephen of of Kingston. Also loved by his mother in law Isobel Workman of Brussels, brother in law Brian and Jo-Anne Workman of Brussels, sisters in law Donna and John Prtenjaca of Melrose and Jacquie and Paul Gowing of Bluevale and his many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Jack and Mary (McLean) Pennington, his father in law Gordon Workman, his sister Beth McCauley and her husband Gerry, his brother Bruce in infancy and his brother in law Gary Richmond.
Friends will be received by the family from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday from the Schimanski Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted from St. John's Anglican Church, Brussels, on Thursday, October 18th at 11:00 AM.
Interment in Brussels Cemetery.
