Born in Wesham England on December 23rd, 1938, Dad immigrated to Canada in March 1948 with his family of 8. He remembers coming to a big open country with no shortage of food.
A jack of all trades, Dad worked hard to support his family after marrying the love of his life in June 1963. Trucking, farming and eventually a milk tester, Dad was very social and enjoyed making new friends on his journeys. He always had a story or joke to share, a smile on his face and often sang a song or two.
Building cradles, furniture and little toy cars from wood and singing with the Seaforth Harmony Kings became favourite hobbies for Dad as was gardening, his fishpond and going for drives with Mom.
Dad was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be remembered for his sharp and witty sense of humour.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Eric’s life will take place at the Bluevale Hall on January 27th from 1-4 pm for family and friends to come together and share a story or two.
Spring interment in Brussels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to Seaforth Harmony Kings (Harmonize for Speech/Sing Canada Scholarship Fund) or Wingham & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
Please send donation cheques to Box 340 Brussels.
