Predeceased by brother Paul, brother-in-law Murray McArter and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cathy & Doug Snyder.

Grand Dogs Murphy and Doug.

Missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doug always had a smile and something to say to everyone. He was grateful for being given another chance 20 years ago and enjoyed watching his children grow up; walking them to the bus stop every morning or carrying them to bed every night. He saw Carter and Krista get married and have boys of their own. He adored his grandsons, he was always driving them around on the tractor, lawn mower or four wheeler and always enjoyed a nap with them after. He looked forward to traveling to Kelowna to see Janisa and Jody. While visiting there he loved taking long drives through the mountains. His life joys were driving the tractor, doing chores and best of all cutting wood and trying to con others to help him. Doug spent hours in the shop tinkering and fixing everything, but always had time for coffee and BACON. He was a private person with a quiet demeanor, but don’t let that fool you as Doug’s family knew him for his dry sense of humour, his one liners and witty come backs. Doug’ s family and farm were his life and he will be greatly missed.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 28th from 10am-12pm at Riverside Funeral Home Brussels Chapel.

A private family service & interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donation to the North Huron Fire Fighters or Huron Chapel Evangelical Missionary Church  would be appreciated.

Please send donation cheques to Box 340 Brussels N0G 1H0.
